This year we were not able to hold our 58th National Meet at Ardingly, however our Northern Area are the hosts for our 59th National Meet & AGM and they have been working on the programme for you all to enjoy.
This meet will take place at Driffield Showground. Driffield has a unique blend of shops which means the town has something for everyone which sets it apart from other cloned towns. There is an exellent train & bus service to take you to explore the Coast & Countryside. They have organised the entertainment for the weekend and on Friday night there are "The Bus Pass Buskers" who offer a great night out with a wide repertoire of Skiffle, Country & Western and a touch of Blues together with jokes & light hearted banter. On Saturday afternoon Driffield Silver Band are there to entertain us - a versatile group of musicians of all ages who have a progressive attitude towards music & encourage full participation from all throughout their performance. In the evening 'Shooter' who were formed in 1983 and soon earned a reputation of being one of the finest bands reliving the 50's & 60's - so don't forget your dancing shoes!. Sunday evening see 'Rob Mason' entertaining us with Stories & song, audience participation and humour with "a reet feel good" factor with a large does of Northern Humour. So come and join us at thie event.

A‘reet’ warm welcome awaits you at Driffield the “Capital of the Wolds”. Driffield lies close to the major cities of Kingston upon Hull and York and is only 12 miles from Bridlington on the
glorious east coast. The showground, which is
on the southern edge of the town, is well drained with excellent facilities. Driffield’s unique blend of shops means the town has something for everyone which sets it apart from other cloned town centres. It has a street market every Thursday and a farmers market at the show ground on the first Saturday of the month. There is a wide selection of cafes, restaurants & public houses where visitors can enjoy a relaxing break. Alternatively, visitors can relax in the tranquility of Riverhead or the Millenium Green, or be more energetic by taking one of the interesting walks around town.
There are excellent bus and train services to Bridlington, Scarborough, York, Beverley and Kingston upon Hull. The coast changes from the golden sands of Bridlington bay in the south to the impressive cliffs of Flamborough Head and the RSPB sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs to the north. The Wolds offe rmiles of leafy trails and stunning walks over
the rolling hills. There area number of stately homes open to the public -Sledmere House and Burton Agnes both nearby.
After you arrive and check in you’ll find warm welcome awaiting you together with acuppa and a biscuit or two. There will be 3 nights of excellent entertainment for you. On the Friday after the opening ceremony you will be entertained by the ‘Bus Pass Buskers’ which is a group playing Skiffle, Country & Western , Blues ,oldtime RockandRoll, Ballads and OldTimeSongs all delivered with humour and a few jokes. Saturday afternoon there will be an afternoon of tea and musice delivered the the Driffield Silver Band courtesy of Northern Area.
On Saturday evening there will be a welcome return of 'Shooter: with the rendition of songs from the 50' & 60's and the drawing of the raffle. Finally on Sunday night you will see the Lancastrian comedian and vocalist
‘BobMason”.
Camping at Driffield will continue until the opening of the follow on meet from Thursday 10th to Tuesday 15th June at Stockton on the Forest just north of York with a regular bus service into the city centre.
